Boruto Naruto Next Generations Episode 57 aired just a couple of hours ago, and I have mixed feelings about the episode. As you probably know already, this post is about Boruto Episode 57, and I’ll break down everything that happened in this post. To kick things off, we got to see Boruto Uzumaki training with Sasuke Uchiha, and I believe there was little to nothing new to see there. We’ve seen this in the movie before, and while there were supposed to be additions, this scene had none. The all-important scene that we got in the episode was right in the very beginning when Gaara was attacked by Urashiki Otsutsuki.

Somehow, Urashiki Otsutsuki already knew that Gaara was the former Jinchuuriki of One Tail, and he seemed to extract something from within him. It’s not clear as to what it was, so I think we may get an explanation in the upcoming episodes.

Aside from the incident with Gaara, the episode covered the Round 2 of Chūnin Exams, and it was nearly the same as the manga, and the movie with only a couple of scenes added. What I liked about the exams was that we got to see Team 15, and Team 5 in action which was fantastic. However, they didn’t fare all that well, which really disappointed me. Especially Iwabee. He was supposed to be exceptionally powerful. I don’t know what happened there.

Boruto Episode 57

Shinki looked like the one shining spot in the episode. He is really powerful. But, I’m afraid the anime is just trying to mimic what Naruto did with the Chunin Exams. Gaara was the center of action back then, and now we have Shinki. I have to say, he’s not as interesting as Gaara, but it’s too early to judge him completely.

We also saw Boruto’s team moving on to the next round, and so did Shikadai’s team. We’ll see them clash in the next round of Chūnin Exams. Furthermore, a little parent-child bonding was seen in this episode with Naruto and Boruto. While the anime was expected to extend some of the scenes, I feel like the movie captured the emotions, and the moment way better than the anime. It seemed bland to me because of the expectations set by the movie. I think the next episode is going to be a lot more exciting with content added to the fights. Because of the short run-time for the movie, this part was rushed, and I think the anime might just get it right. For this week’s episode, I thought Boruto was a bit flat, but it was still a decent adaptation.
